What we collect

HighBar collects information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, role interest, project description, messages you send, and any application details submitted through our forms.

If you sign in with Google, Firebase Authentication may provide your name, email address, profile image, and account identifier.

For monthly check-ins and Demo Day, HighBar's official review artifact is one public YouTube video, 30-60 seconds long, posted by the applicant. Because it is public, applicants should avoid including private personal information, private third-party information, or anything they do not want publicly visible.

How we use information

Message access

Only active registered applicants, mentors, and board members can send messages through HighBar. Signing in alone does not grant message access, and admin access by itself is not a sender role unless the account also has one of those registered roles.

We use account roles, Firebase Authentication, and audit records to confirm who can send messages and to keep message access clear for non-registered users.

Suspension and abuse review

If we suspect spam, impersonation, misuse, abuse, or activity that could harm HighBar users or partners, we may suspend or disable the account while we review it. Suspension may remove role permissions, block sign-in, stop message and dashboard access, and preserve relevant account records for safety, troubleshooting, and audit purposes.

We aim to use the least disruptive action that protects the community. If a suspension appears to be a mistake, we may reinstate the account after review. To ask for a review, contact [email protected].

How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We may share relevant application or message details with HighBar team members, mentors, board members, applicants, service providers, or organizations involved in the HighBar opportunity you requested.

Service providers

We use services such as Firebase, Netlify, Google sign-in, and email delivery providers to run the site, store submissions, authenticate users, and send notifications.

Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to operate HighBar, follow up on requests, maintain records, resolve disputes, and improve safety. You may ask us to delete or update your information.

Your choices

You can choose not to submit a form or not to sign in. If you want access, correction, or deletion of information you provided, contact us at [email protected].

Children

HighBar is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 provided personal information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy as HighBar changes. The updated date at the top shows when this page was last revised.
